True Yamata no Orochi is a PVE instance that can be challenged for Soul drops.
There are some prerequisites to be able to challenge Orochi at all: players must have a Orochi mark, whereupon there is a chance for Orochi to appear after clearing the 10th floor of the Yamata no Orochi Soul dungeons. Players must also be able to provide at least 10 shikigami as challengers.
When True Yamata no Orochi appears, a notification shows up, and a corresponding image of the boss appears on the exploration map. True Yamata no Orochi will stay on the map for 6 hours, though it disappears after being cleared or exited. The dungeon can be challenged 4 times weekly for the rewards, and costs 30 stamina to do so, but there is no daily limit or cooldown to how many times it can be challenged.
The instance has 10 rounds, and individual rounds cannot be challenged like floors - it is required to progress from 1 to 10. However, for each round, the lineup of shikigami can be adjusted, with specifications covered below.
The dungeon can be challenged either solo or in a team. With 1 player, they must supply 2 onmyouji and 10 shikigami, optionally adding in 3 supports from close friends. With 2 players, the leader supplies 2 onmyouji and 7 shikigami, the member supplies 7 shikigami. Finally, with 3 players, the leader supplies 2 onmyouji and 5 shikigami, members supply 5 shikigami. These will be the choices that players are limited to in the dungeon.
For each round, 1 onmyouji is used as well as 6 shikigami. Players only control their own units, so it's possible for some to auto while others use manual control.
To facilitate communication, real-time voice chat is enabled for the team.
The battle ends when all units have perished, a player quits, or all 10 rounds have been passed.

- ↑ Extra round is given with remaining youkai if entire team dies.
In addition, attacks from all youkai will decrease upper health limit, which can be partially recovered by switching out a shikigami to "rest."
Attacks from Yamata no Orochi passes through shields except for Seimei's and will give debuff which causes shikigami skill to consume more onibi.
The instance primarily drops Orochi Reverse Scales, gold, and high-grade Soul. Rewards are distributed according to the final number of rounds cleared, at the end when battle is over. The higher the number of rounds cleared, the greater the rewards, and the higher the chance of 6 star Soul.
